Overview

This guide introduces recent updates designed to improve how you navigate, view, and manage workforce data. These enhancements include:

  • A redesigned top navigation aligned to Beamible

  • A new editable table view of workforce data

  • The ability to switch between read-only and edit modes

1. Updated Top Navigation

What’s Changed

The top navigation bar has been reorganised to better align with Beamible's methodology and provide a more intuitive structure.

Benefits

  • Faster access to key areas

  • Clearer grouping of features

  • Improved workflow across planning, data, and insights

How to Use

  • Use the top navigation to move between key sections

  • Explore grouped items to quickly locate relevant tools and data

2. Read-Only vs Edit Mode

Read-Only Mode

  • View workforce data without making changes

  • Ideal for reviewing or sharing information

Edit Mode

  • Enables editing capabilities within the table

  • Allows inline updates and data management

Switching Modes

  • Toggle between Read-Only and Edit Mode using the mode control

  • Edit Mode is only available if you have the appropriate permissions

Why It Matters

  • Protects data integrity

  • Provides clarity on when changes can be made

  • Supports controlled collaboration

3. View and Edit Workforce Data

You can now view workforce data in two ways:

Diagram View

  • Visual representation of workforce structure

  • Best for planning and understanding relationships

Table View

  • Structured, grid-based layout of workforce data

  • Ideal for reviewing and editing detailed information

Switching Views

  • Toggle between Diagram and Table views using the view switcher

  • Choose the view that best suits your task

4. Using the Editing Table

Build Your View

The table allows you to organise data in a way that works for you.

You can:

  • Sort columns

  • Scan and compare data easily

  • Structure the table to focus on what matters most

Benefits

  • Improved visibility of workforce data

  • Easier edits and updates

  • More control over how data is presented

5. Editing Table Data Inline

How It Works

In Edit Mode, the table becomes fully interactive.

  • Build your view of the data by sorting and organising the table

  • Click into any cell to update data directly

  • Make quick changes without opening additional panels

  • See updates immediately within the table

When to Use

  • Updating workforce roles or attributes

  • Making quick corrections

  • Performing bulk edits efficiently

How to Use

  • Select which dimension you'd like to see your data. For example, each row represents a role

  • Select which data you'd like to see connected to the dimension you are viewing. For example, roles connected to activities. Roles will be listed on each line and expanded they will list the activities that are connected to the role.

  • Click on the cell to edit and make changes. Note that edits will auto-save.

6. Best Practices

  • Use Diagram View for planning and structural changes

  • Use Table View for detailed edits and data management

  • Build your table view before making edits to stay focused

  • Confirm you are in Edit Mode before making changes

Summary

These updates are designed to make workforce planning more efficient and flexible:

  • Navigate more easily with the updated top navigation

  • Switch between visual and structured data views

  • Customise how you see your data

  • Edit workforce data quickly and directly in the table

  • Maintain control with clear read-only and edit modes
